Usage

Stop taking Meridia only with your doctor’s consent.

Meridia is contraindicated ( not to be used) for persons allergic or hypersensitive to Sibutramine, for those persons with major eating disorders (e.g. bulimia), those persons using other centrally acting weight loss drugs, and for those persons being treated with monoamine oxidase inhibitor drugs.

Caution: Meridia comes under US FDA Pregnancy Category C and therefore not recommended during pregnancy or for use by nursing mothers.

Caution: Meridia overdose may cause high blood pressure and rapid heart rate. In case you suspect Meridia overdose seek immediate medical attention

Side Effects

Common side effects of Meridia are acid indigestion, anxiety, back pain, constipation, cough increase, depression, dizziness, dry mouth, and flu like symptoms. If you experience these or any other side effects on using Meridia first see if these symptoms go away rapidly. However if these symptoms continue to persist consult your doctor to take remedial measures.

Precaution

Before being prescribed Merdia tell your doctor if you have a history of liver or kidney disease, high blood pressure, heart disease, seizures, eating disorders, and glaucoma

If you are an elderly person you are likely to be more sensitive to the effects of Meridia which means you have to use the drug cautiously.
