About

Ambien contains the active ingredient Zolpidem tartrate and is used for treatment of sleeplessness commonly referred to as insomnia. It is different from other sleep medications and is preferably used on a short term basis if you have difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep or if you experience early awakening.

Generic Ambien tablets are supplied by us in strength of 5 mg and 10 mg sourced from reputed manufacturers worldwide. Branded Ambien of strength is supplied by us in strength of 10mg

Usage

Take Ambien strictly as prescribed by your doctor. The starting dose of Ambien is 10 mg immediately before going to bed preferably before dinner and on an empty stomach. Ambien works very quickly and that is why it is better to take it just before going to bed.

In case you have missed a dose of Ambien never take a double dose to make up for the missed dose. Simply skip the missed dose and get back to your original dosing schedule.

Ambien should not be used for more than 2 weeks at a time.

Ambien is contraindicated (not to be used) for persons allergic or hypersensitive to Zolpidem tartrate, and for those persons having psychiatric disorder, kidney problems and for those who experience difficulty in breathing referred to also as impaired respiratory function.

Caution: Ambien comes under US FDA Pregnancy Category C which means that the drug is not safe for use during pregnancy as it has been shown to cause problems in pregnant animals.

Caution: Ambien overdose may cause excessive tiredness and even lead to lung and heart failure. Therefore if you suspect Ambien overdose seek immediate medical attention.

Side Effects

Most common side effects of Ambien are allergic reactions, drowsiness, dizziness, headache, indigestion, and nausea. If these symptoms don’t seem to go away and persist consult your doctor at the earliest.

  • Do not drive vehicles or operate machinery, until you know how Ambien works in your system.
  • Keep Ambien protected from heat and light and away from children.
